Introduction

Land rear of Broad Street House, Broad Street, Lyminge.

Welcome to our public consultation website.

This public consultation website has been produced as part of our community engagement in relation to a Full Planning Application (‘Application’) which is to be submitted to Folkestone & Hythe District Council (‘FHDC’) in respect of development at Land rear of Broad Street House, Broad Street, Lyminge (‘the Site’).

The Application seeks:

‘Retrospective application seeking consent for 2no. previously approved self-build plots (as per hybrid permission 20/1397/FH, as well as RM permissions 22/1195/FH and 22/1189/FH). Full application seeking detailed planning consent for a residential development comprising 47 dwellings (including 10 affordable homes), including access, parking and landscaping as well as additional car parking spaces for the adjacent Doctors’ Surgery and a new footpath linking PRoW HE59 with the footway along the eastern side of Broad Street.’

STEN Architecture and DHA have prepared this public consultation website for the proposed scheme to illustrate our vision for the proposed development of the Site.

The Application will include the following elements:

  • 49 dwellings in total;
  • 10 affordable homes, comprising a mixture of shared ownership and affordable rent dwellings;
  • 2no. self-build plots;
  • New footpath linking PRoW HE59 with the footway along the eastern side of Broad Street;
  • A mixture of 2 storey terraced, semi- detached and detached dwellings, providing a range of 1 to 5 bedrooms;
  • A single vehicular access from Broad Street; and
  • Parking provision on the site will be in line with KCC standards.

Following a well-attended public consultation event held at Etchinghill Golf Club in early February 2023, Pentland Homes have agreed to attend an additional public consultation meeting facilitated by the Parish Council on Wednesday 8th March 2023 at Etchinghill Village Hall, St Marys Drive, Etchinghill, Folkestone, CT18 8DB.

The meeting will provide another opportunity for residents to hear about the proposals in more detail. Feedback from the previous meeting will also be addressed by Pentland Homes, and there will be an opportunity to ask questions.

This consultation website therefore provides an additional means of public engagement for you to provide feedback on the proposals. This website outlines details of the Site, the applicants, and details of the proposed development.

The feedback received will be reviewed and analysed, and where possible, used to inform the proposals and FHDC in their decision-making process.

To leave feedback on any aspect of the proposed development, please click on the Your Views tab which will allow you to submit your feedback. We encourage you to review the submitted layout plan before leaving comment.
